Can You Remove My Tattoo?
Dr. Lynch will do his best to increase the success of your tattoo reduction at Lynch Vein & Aesthetics. Fitting candidates for laser tattoo removal are healthy and have a strong immune system. Why? A strong immune system improves your body’s ability to help break down the ink within your skin. Also, the greater the contrast is between the ink and the color of your skin will yield better results. It does not matter where the tattoo is located on your skin, however, we will take into consideration:
- The age of the tattoo (new or old)
- The type of ink(s) used in your skin
- The size of the tattoo
- The condition of your skin
We can discuss your tattoo removal in a confidential consultation. Dr. Lynch can give you a detailed explanation of how laser tattoo removal can work for your specific situation. We also want you to keep in mind that you need to have realistic expectations as to how much the laser can do for your skin.
Our Laser Tattoo Removal Technique
There really is no preparation on your part for laser tattoo removal. We will take you to a private treatment room for your session with the Harmony XL PRO laser platform. We will carefully cleanse your skin and apply a numbing agent to your skin to make it more comfortable. Dr. Lynch will then pass the laser application over the tattooed skin. It will release laser light and pulsing energy. The treatment time can vary, depending on the size of the treatment area. In some circumstances, the tattoo will require multiple sessions before obvious results are visible. This will all be discussed with you at your assessment appointment.
What to Expect
Following each treatment, a soothing gel will be applied to your skin along with bandages to protect the area. You may have redness, swelling, and sensitivity. You could also feel like you have a sunburn in the treatment area, which will be followed by minor scabbing. It's important to adhere to aftercare instructions to keep the recovery process on track. The results and appearance of the tattoo vary from patient to patient. After each treatment session, you will see the tattoo become lighter. We can make your next treatment session at the advisement of Dr. Lynch. He generally does not recommend scheduling sessions sooner than 4 – 7 weeks apart.
